Bananas?

Hi everyone. Another great Journeyman episode tonight!

Just an update - it was prevously thought that the remaining two episodes that have been produced might not air. After tonight's Journeyman episode, there was a promo for a new episode that will air in two weeks, so that's great news.

Additionally, I personally think that bananas are the way to go. "Huh? Bananas? You've gone mad!" you might say. Exactly.

I think we need to send Banana chips to the NBC offices and executives. Here's why:

1) Banana chips aren't that expensive. They can be bought in most stores, and be somewhat easily mailed.

2) We could get on board with local stores or nutsonline or something in order to set up a bulk donation-shipping system. You donate a few bucks, they deliver bags of Banana chips to the NBC folks.

3) They're semi-non-perishable, meaning they'll survive the delivery process and since they're somewhat nutritious, they can be donated to worthy causes.

4) Makes for a good slogans:

We're Bananas for Journeyman!
Go Bananas for Journeyman!
We've gone Bananas for Journeyman!
NBC is BANANAS for not renewing Journeyman!

Ahem... you get the idea.

I'm likely alone in this thought process, it's probably just my crazy mind thinking this would be a great plan. But please, let me know either way! If you think it's a really dumb idea, I won't be insulted, believe me. And if you think it could work, let me know!

One thing I'm sure of, is that we could genuinely execute this bulk banana chips plan. I have no doubt that we could hook up with any number of different supermarkets, distributors, or whatever in the vicinity of the NBC offices in order to make it happen, and it wouldn't cost us much (it's only around $2 for a pound of Banana chips), and there are already over 1,000 signatures on the Journeyman petition. If we could get just half of them to pitch in a few bucks, we could at the very least get started with a 1/4 of a ton of banana chips shipped to NBC.

Of course I'm totally open to any other suggestions for non-perishable food/candy that we could send, so please please please share your thoughts.

I read somewhere that the Jericho thing was done through nutsonline. well they also sell banana chips so maybe going through them would be the way to go - since they have already done something similar before. http://www.nutsonline.com/driedfruit/banana-chips/unsweetened.html?source=gaw&kw=cam3grp32AdA&gclid=CN7OhbzI_Y8CFTyKOAodODKCNg

I wonder if everyone used their money to pay for episode downloads, and took a few minutes of each day to encourage friends to watch episodes online might have a better impact? If they are looking at dollars, they want data they can track.

Bananas is a good idea. The only problem is, it has absolutely nothing to do with the show. Maybe you can get Kevin Falls to have Dan slip on a banana peel next week, or have him bring a banana back in time.

Otherwise, I think something like the Blowback Bubblegum idea would be better.

I applaud your enthusiasm! But I have to agree with others that sending banana chips is not going to help, nor will any other gimmicky item. Even if there was some major connection, CBS would not get it, nor would they care if they did get the meaning. Also, anything that could be tainted will get tossed, so they'll neither be snacked upon or donated, it will all go directly into the trash.

IMO, postcards (and letters) would work the best, if anything works at all. Pages of emails are readily deleted, there's more of a physical/visual impact to piles of cards and letters. If you want everyone to send the same thing, design a Journeyman-themed postcard that people can print out and send.

Good luck!

I would go for Citrus, that way we get a good tie-in with the show.

Thanks for campaigning. I love this show and think it's worth saving.
