National "Download Journeyman on iTunes" Day

This Monday, December 3rd has been designated Journeyman Download Day by a slew of avid Journeyman fans at Television Without Pity.

The plan is to have as many people as possible download the Journeyman episode "Blowback" from itunes at 10pm your local time, as a show of support.

(Episodes on iTunes are $2, so if you've already bought the episode or would rather not pay for it, you can just go to NBC.com on Monday night at that time and watch the episode there. Pounding the NBC servers would send a message as well, and don't forget that they'll be making money off their website downloads as well, since it's ad supported, so either way they get the message.)

Good news - all episodes will air

http://www.aintitcool.com/node/34919

AICN received this letter from Kevin Falls:

NBC has decided to air the 12th episode ("Perfidia") on Wednesday, December 19th at ten o'clock. That means our 10th episode will air on Monday the 10th ("Home by Another Way"), the 11th will air on 17th ("The Hanged Man").

The decision to air the 12th episode had a lot to do with the passion of our fans through SaveJourneyman.net, the online petition and letters and emails to NBC executives.

And is it true you can vote once a day for the People's Choice Awards?

There's still no news on our long term future, but we can promise you this: three terrific episodes inside of ten days. Oh, yeah, and you'll get some answers, too.

Your comments and pro-active attempts to save the show are very much appreciated by me and my fellow Executive Producer Alex Graves, Kevin McKidd and the cast, writers and crew. But more importantly, it's working.

But don't rest. We need you. We want a back nine--and beyond.

Thanks again,
Kevin Falls

What, where's the love for SaveJourneyman.funurl.com? hehe.

This is good news - our plans are working. Obviously, we can't back down now. We have their attention.

Hopefully the plans for setting up a bulk delivery campaign of Rice-A-Roni is set up within the next week or so. Stay tuned here and at http://savejourneyman.funurl.com/

Rice-A-Roni?

Yes, we have no bananas... but how about Rice-A-Roni?

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

A pure genius on the NBC message board chat tonight suggested we send Rice-a-Roni, a reference to the show being set in San Francisco. I will be contacting nutsonline (the Nuts for Jericho people) for advice to see how we could go about sending loads of boxes of Rice-a-Roni to the NBC offices. What would presumably happen is a website would be set up to take small donations which would go towards shipments of the San Francisco treat for the NBC execs, with a nice fat flyer attached "Rice-a-Roni in support of Journeyman" I'll get back to you soon as the plan develops, and as always, please share your feedback! savejourneyman@gmail.com

The Rice-A-Roni could be easily donated by NBC to local charities (good press for both us and them).

Bananas?

Hi everyone. Another great Journeyman episode tonight!

Just an update - it was prevously thought that the remaining two episodes that have been produced might not air. After tonight's Journeyman episode, there was a promo for a new episode that will air in two weeks, so that's great news.

Additionally, I personally think that bananas are the way to go. "Huh? Bananas? You've gone mad!" you might say. Exactly.

I think we need to send Banana chips to the NBC offices and executives. Here's why:

1) Banana chips aren't that expensive. They can be bought in most stores, and be somewhat easily mailed.

2) We could get on board with local stores or nutsonline or something in order to set up a bulk donation-shipping system. You donate a few bucks, they deliver bags of Banana chips to the NBC folks.

3) They're semi-non-perishable, meaning they'll survive the delivery process and since they're somewhat nutritious, they can be donated to worthy causes.

4) Makes for a good slogans:

We're Bananas for Journeyman!
Go Bananas for Journeyman!
We've gone Bananas for Journeyman!
NBC is BANANAS for not renewing Journeyman!

Ahem... you get the idea.

I'm likely alone in this thought process, it's probably just my crazy mind thinking this would be a great plan. But please, let me know either way! If you think it's a really dumb idea, I won't be insulted, believe me. And if you think it could work, let me know!

One thing I'm sure of, is that we could genuinely execute this bulk banana chips plan. I have no doubt that we could hook up with any number of different supermarkets, distributors, or whatever in the vicinity of the NBC offices in order to make it happen, and it wouldn't cost us much (it's only around $2 for a pound of Banana chips), and there are already over 1,000 signatures on the Journeyman petition. If we could get just half of them to pitch in a few bucks, we could at the very least get started with a 1/4 of a ton of banana chips shipped to NBC.

Of course I'm totally open to any other suggestions for non-perishable food/candy that we could send, so please please please share your thoughts.

Chat Update

The chat went well, and we've made some good preliminary progress in forming a cohesive plan of attack. There is also a new chat scheduled for Tuesday, Nov 27th at 10pm eastern. Be sure to join in on the fun!

I'll be updating soon on what we talked about at the last chat, and what you can do to help.

(I've posted the following to the website, but I'm going to post here for archival purposes as well)

I'm going to be contacting "Nuts Online" - the people behind the tons of nuts sent to CBS execs in the "Nuts for Jericho" campaign, to see if they can give us some advice and possibly help us with a similar effort. Truckloads of nuts were purchased through their website and sent to CBS, which ultimately resulted in CBS renewing Jericho for a "mini-season." I'm hoping that a similar effort might be able to get started for Journeyman, as they have many other items in addition to nuts including fruit, candy, and other snacks.

New stuff

(see http://savejourneyman.funurl.com/ for more details)

1) Vote for Journeyman as Favorite New TV Drama at the People's Choice Awards
http://www.pcavote.com/pca/showvoting.jsp

2) Call, Fax, and e-mail:

Park, JoanneSenior Press Manager - NBC Entertainment Publicity (Project Assignment: "Journeyman" "The Office" et al)
Phone: (818) 840-4579
Fax: (818) 840-4943
Email: joanne.park@nbcuni.com
Division: NBC Entertainment

Don't have a fax machine? Send a FREE FAX, no strings attached, no credit card needed, etc:
http://www.tpc.int/sendfax.html
http://faxzero.com/

Fax Zero puts an ad on the coverpage, but considering it's a free fax, that's no biggie. You can fax anything you type and you can fax an attached document (MS Word, etc) of up to three pages long.

If NBC ends up with a stack of faxes that costs us nothing, I'd say that's a good thing.

3) Don't forget the live chat Sunday night:

Save Journeyman!

Welcome to the Save Journeyman Blog. I've basically set up this blog, for now, as a place where people can comment and come up with suggestions. If you haven't already, please visit the site I've set up:

http://savejourneyman.funurl.com/

Tell your friends, tell your enemies, do whatever you have to do.For now, you can e-mail me at the link found on that site, or post here in the comments section. If anyone has a message board that has a decent amount of active members, perhaps we can use that as a hub of communication. Honestly, I don't have much experience with all this, so I need any help I can get.

Also, we need a chat room - if anyone has a place where we can gather to strategize, post the link.
