A Big Thanks to All

Well, it's "official" - Journeyman is no more.

You can find out more at http://savejourneyman.net/ including a message from show creator Kevin Falls. http://savejourneyman.net/2008/04/06/kevin-falls-thanks-the-fans/

There's still a DVD release left to fight for (let's face it, it would be awesome to get a full blown DVD release), so keep sending e-mails and post cards asking for a DVD release!

We gave it a great try, and thank you to everyone that helped with this. I'd love to take some credit for the efforts, but I don't deserve any. It was the efforts of all of the people who dedicated themselves on a daily basis that deserve the thanks. They made this thing a reality, and turned a whim into something that was well beyond what I could have expected.

I do have around $250 remaining (potentially more - I still need to do some cleaning up of the numbers). The best option I see right now is to donate the money to a worthy charity, but please post a comment if you have any suggestions.

I'll probably post a poll soon about it, and be sure to spread the word so that we can come up with something good. If you have any idea how the money could go towards something related to getting Journeyman on DVD that would be great, too, but I'm reluctant to use the funds for something that won't ultimately go to charity (like a newspaper ad) since people donated under the assumption the money would also go to a good cause.

If people think one last Rice A Roni shipment with a request for a DVD relase would be a good idea, I'm all for whatever everyone thinks is best!

Again, thank you all for your hard work and dedication to Journeyman. It was a fun ride, and our Journeys with Dan Vasser will never be forgotten!

Happy April!

Hey gang! Long time, no see! So sorry for my lack of updates. I've been busy with this and that. Donations have slowed down somewhat, of course that's to be expected, though. I have a few more donations that I haven't yet added to the list, so hang in there.

If you have any news items or important things that need to be brought to my attention, please comment or shoot me an e-mail.

There were (apparently) a few reports of some refused shipments by NBC on or around February 14th... I just wanted to let everyone know that none of the bulk shimpents I sent were refused other than those ones way back that I then re-ordered, so I'm of the opinion that occasionally someone in the NBC mailroom flakes out and refuses a shipment. Probably some clueless intern. I would recommend re-mailing your package if this happens.

If you haven't already, please be sure to sign up at the SaveJourneyman.net forums, where you guys can coordinate any further efforts! It's probably the easiest way to stay current on all the news and to get involved. Link: http://savejourneyman.net/forums/

KEEP UP THE EFFORTS! There's still a chance to find life for Journeyman.

Few tidbits

1) City Harvest has clarified and they've received something like 1600 boxes. That's more like it... Still definitely less than NBC has received by now, but sometimes it takes time for the process to complete. The boxes have to arrive at the mail room, be sorted, and then delivered/picked up by City Harvest and/or any other charities that may be getting packages. Plus, some packages may have been damaged, and those could end up getting discarded for safety reasons. Anyway, bottom line is that hopefully everything that NBC gets is going to worthy causes.

2) As for the totals, we're now at close to $4,300 in donations. Not bad... I never thought we'd pass $1,000.

A few more tracking numbers from recent shipments (UPS):

1Z410E7W0365967623
1Z410E7W0365684894
1Z410E7W0365692698

Just FYI, they contain gift notes to Jeff Zucker: "TO: Jeff Zucker FROM: JOURNEYMAN fans. Please renew Journeyman. Please fight for good TV."

3) Journeyman "won" the poll at http://www.scifi.com/scifiwire/index.php?category=13

41% of the 12,000+ votes went to Journeyman. Cool.

4) Hulu.com (a website owned by NBC and FOX) has put up episodes of Journeyman, after they were taken off of NBC.com. Sign up for the beta, if you haven't already, and then go to the Journeyman page to watch the episodes.

Another Amazon order

Ordered 288 more boxes.

Totals: $4,086 in donations
2623 boxes ordered

Considering that many, many people have sent their own orders of Rice-A-Roni to NBC, (many of those orders being for multiple boxes and/or cases), the fact that City Harvest only claims to have gotten 400 boxes still doesn't sound possible to me. I'm still wondering if they're not reporting a "box" as "one box" even when it contains several boxes of Rice-A-Roni.

Hopefully we'll get some answers on this! One thing I'm sure of is that between our orders here and individual people sending in boxes, NBC has received and signed for well beyond 400 boxes, (and over 2000 from the donations here, not counting all the individual shipments). What they've done with them at this point is still in question.

Stay tuned!

Hey gang!

Once again, sorry for the delay. I will have an update tomorrow!

I got a comment in my last entry saying City Harvest has only received 400 boxes of Rice-A-Roni. Something is extremely fishy about that, as NBC has received wayyyyy more than that. Some of my Amazon orders were slow in fullfilment, but NBC has signed and accepted far more than that. The only thing I can think is that City Harvest was only counting CASES or boxes that contained multiple boxes of RAR as "one box." If anyone wants to look into that for me, please do.

As I said, I'll update with donations and new orders tomorrow, and dig up all the package tracking numbers to confirm that all the Amazon orders have been delivered.

Again, something is fishy, as I've places orders of over 300 boxes of Rice-A-Roni from EACH of 3 or 4 different online vendors, and I've only had one Amazon shipment refused (which I then reordered), so NBC had received way more than that. Perhaps they have given some of the RAR to other charities, or maybe they're holding onto a large quantity at this point.

If I get a chance, I'll do some digging with the folks at City Harvest and NBC, but if anyone else wants to do the legwork on that it would be MUCH appreciated.

Back soon!

The weekly Journeyman streaming event continues!

Thanks Serulous for this info:

The streaming events have been really gaining steam! Monday is our third streaming event. Pass it onto other Journeyman fan you know!! The last two Mondays, traffic was up noticeably at nbc.com. There are some really quick things you can do to make the streaming events even more effective. Send the execs a quick email, click the ads while you stream and contact the advertisers during the week. If you find advertiser contact info post it here: http://savejourneyman.net/forums/index.php/topic,5.0.html. Also post there which advertisers you saw during your stream. More details below.
Monday's (1/21) Streaming Event, Episode 3: Game Three:

-Stream Journeyman episode #3, "Friendly Skies," on Monday (1/21) on NBC.com. By request, we've added a Pacific time to stream as well. So stream at 10 p.m. EST(Journeyman's regular time-slot). and/or 10 p.m. PST (regular time for the network folks out in LA).
-If you can't make it at 10 p.m., then stream at another time on 1/21.
-Spread the word. Email other Journeyman fans. Post this info on other boards. Watch it with someone who hasn't seen the show before if you can.
-Send a quick email to the execs that you watched the show. Get creative with subject lines for emails so the emails get around filtering. As always be polite. Great example of an email sent last week below.

Jack Abernathy CEO FOX jack.abernathy@fox.com
President and Chief Executive Officer of FX Networks: peter.ligouri@fox.com
Entertainment President at FOX kevin.reilly@fox.com
Jeff Zucker CEO NBC jeff.zucker@nbcuni.com

-Let the advertisers know we're watching. They pay the bills at NBC, so it's good to let them know. Easy way? Click on the ads when you stream. A few minutes of time during the week? Send an email or call the advertisers.
-Enjoy the episode! Shouldn't be hard - it's a great episode. Comment on http://savejourneyman.net/forums/ on nbc.com afterwards.

As usual, feel free to post this on other sites, facebook groups, myspace pages, blogs, livejournal, gardening sites (just checking if people are paying attention on that last one but most sites do have a general interest section).
Here's a quote of a letter one poster emailed to the execs after the last streaming event:
Quote from: kevbo65 on January 15, 2008, 11:46:00 AMI just sent the following note to the gentlemen listed at Fox and NBC...

Subject line: Great show last night!!!

I rewatched the 2nd episode of Journeyman last night on the website at the time that it used to be on the television. This is one great show! It looks like I will become a regular viewer of this show on the web as it is excellently written and the acting is top notch...

Update and Journeyman Download Monday

Hey gang, I'm still alive. Couple quick bits:

1) Don't give up. Of course NBC is going to sound "down" on Journeyman every opportunity they can get. They're tired of the calls, letters, and hundreds of boxes of Rice-A-Roni they're getting, and it makes them look bad. They don't want to admit they're in any way responsible for the fact that a great show failed. They'd prefer it just went away quietly. Well, for now, we have to make sure it doesn't.

2) Monday, January 7th, go to NBC.com and view the pilot episode ("Love of a Lifetime") online at 10pm eastern time.

http://www.nbc.com/Journeyman/video/episodes.shtml

(you'll have to scroll all the way over to the right of the thumbnail icons for each episode)

3) I'll have some updates on the Rice-A-Roni donations and shipments soon.

Thanks and STAY TUNED. It's important at this time that we don't give up.
